Usage
Mirataz® works by delivering mirtazapine through the skin to boost your cat's appetite, encouraging increased food intake and weight gain. It's ideal for cats experiencing nausea, chronic illness, or reduced interest in food. Apply topically to the inner ear pinna for mess-free administration-simply wear gloves, rub in a 1.5-inch ribbon, and avoid contact with the treated cat for 2 hours.
Dosage
Administer approximately 2 mg (0.1 mL or a 1.5-inch ribbon) once daily for up to 14 days. Monitor food intake upon discontinuation, as appetite may decrease. Always consult your veterinarian for personalised dosing, especially for cats with kidney/liver issues or under 2 kg.
Side Effects
Common side effects include application site reactions (redness, crusting), behavioural changes (vocalisation, hyperactivity), vomiting, and tremors.
